Recreational Soccer – Quick Facts

Complete rules are found on our recreational page of our website. Below is a divisional guide, with respect to birth years, ball sizes, and general rules.

• NO casts or splints of any kind, NO jewelry, NO ear piercing studs (even if covered by tape) are allowed in any division. NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Before each game for all divisions, there is a coin toss, called by the away Team Captain.
• The winner of the coin toss chooses the goal to defend and the other team kicks off to begin the game.

• 6 field + 1 keeper
• Coaches must stay within 10 yards of mid-field
• 5 players needed to begin game, 10 minute grace period before forfeit
• Subs with referee OK on kick off, goal kick, injury or throw-in (offensive team only, if offense subs, then defense may also sub)
• Opponents must be 6 yards from any free kick
• Offsides will be called
• NO HEADING – intentional headers will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team.
7&8Under 6/7• 1Two games
• 12x20 min halves each
• 15 min half time
Size 3• 12 roster
• 2 simultaneous games
• 3 on field + 1 keeper
• 6 field + 1 keeper
• All kicks are indirect (i.e. cannot score directly off the kick)
• Opponents must be 6 yards from the ball during a free kick
• Opponents must move to their side of the field on a goal kick
• Restarts from sideline
- No throw-ins, a kick-in is taken from the sideline where the ball went out
• Restarts from end line or goal line
- Corner kicks and goal kicks to restart after ball goes over the end line
• NO HEADING – intentional headers will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team.
