As we kick off our 2015 Recreational and Competitive seasons, I am thrilled to update you on the DMCV Sharks Safe Fields.
The Safe Fields Program will ensure the DMCV Sharks secure an adequate number of the safest and best maintained fields for thousands of children in our community by providing much needed supplemental funding. The addition of financial resources to our field budget this year would allow the Sharks to continue registration fees at an affordable price for local families.
Our club has grown and field usage has increased by 30%. However, the economic climate has changed in our city, state and school districts, resulting in a 50% increase in cost to use and maintain our training and game fields.
In 2014, we were able to secure additional rental fields such as Hourglass, Ashley Falls, UCSD, Solana Ranch, and more. In addition, we renovated Torrey Hills Park – Small. Green boxes have been allocated at Sage Canyon and Torrey Hills, which will allow us to make game day improvements. For this coming year, we can do even more. The video below will detail more of the Safe Field’s goals.
We are kindly asking for 100% support from our families to at least one of our upcoming programs. We teach our Sharks to play like a team, and we certainly hope we can count on our team of families to make this a campaign a tremendous success.
