FRIDAY NIGHT SKILLS

The Skills Clinics is a refocused initiative to provide players with the individual tools for the technical and tactical aspects of soccer. The skills learned can be brought with them into their team environment to help further their development as an individual and teammate.

The technical focus will be on ball mastery, passing and receiving principles as well finishing. The tactical/decision making focus will be on the application of these techniques used through 1v1, 2v2, Rondo’s and Small Sided Games.

The clinics are run by the collaborative efforts of Coach Philippe Bodnar, Coach Erin Wall, and Coach Jordan Shadeed from the Sharks competitive program, along with the other knowledgeable and experienced Sharks coaches.

ISPE PROGRAMSTRENGTH & CONDITIONING
FOR SOCCER

Soccer is one of the most physically demanding sports. To maximize their potential and reach elite level, along with complex technical-tactical skills, youth soccer players need to work on physical and fitness abilities. High aerobic and repeated sprint capacity, muscular strength and endurance, speed, agility, quickness, coordination, balance and flexibility need to be practiced on regular basis. Of high importance is a critical time window when children are the most sensitive to specific training stimulus. Opportunity for boys to develop speed, agility, strength and power and reach their maximum potential is between ages 12 to 16, while the girls’ development happens between the ages 10 to 14. With safely conducted training, these abilities are attainable and highly recommended from childhood to adulthood.

Strength and Conditioning for Soccer ISPE provides proper training in a safe environment:

  • Training is conducted by qualified instructors who emphasize correct form and adapt exercises to children’s abilities.
  • Training sessions are monitored by advanced sport performance tracking system to ensure players get proper workload and intensity, thus optimizing development.
  • Training physical abilities during the ages when children are the most sensible for development.
  • Exercises are implemented twice a week on non-consecutive days while the intensity is gradually increased,  which was scientifically proven to be the most effective way to improve speed, agility, power and strength.
  • Injury prevention is achieved through monitored performance and recovery program, optimized with healthy nutrition, proper hydration and adequate sleep.
  • Recommendation of corrective exercises to prevent and correct muscular imbalance, bilateral strength asymmetry and overuse injuries are provided to students.
  • Individualized goals and training program.

All of this on a school clock!

2018FUTSAL PROGRAM

The DMCV Sharks Futsal program focuses on the development of technical footwork, improved reflexes, quick decision making, and game creativity, all in a fun and familiar environment. The game is played with a heavier ball with less bounce, which promotes ball control and extended game play. Games tend to be higher scoring, action packed and fast paced. These core principles of the game translate onto the traditional soccer field, and elevates the players’ overall skill and passion for the game

The program is directed by Ryan Penton and Duarte Andrade, both NSCAA Level 1 Futsal Coaches.

DMCV SHARKSLIL’ FINS

Your child’s soccer development is important especially at a young age. At the DMCV Sharks, we are happy to offer our Lil Fins program, designed to help your child take the ‘next step’ in their soccer growth.

Lil’ Fins is designed for the beginner and intermediate players.  The capacity is 20 players. We will teach your kids this sport (rather than coach them) through fun training methods and games.

Players will improve their dribbling, trapping, passing and shooting in a safe, fun and passionate soccer learning environment where the ball is THEIR best buddy!

We will also focus on ‘Transitional Soccer’ with lots of 1V1, 2V2, and 3V3. Each session will finish with small side scrimmages.

DMCV SHARKSLIL’ FINS ELITE

In the Lil’ Fins Elite program, we have designed a smaller style session which is limited to 12 players. The goal is to provide a personal training atmosphere where we work on both technique and speed, on and off the ball.

Each exercise within our training portfolio is designed to help players find solutions to the challenges presented by their opponents.  Players will love the dynamic, engaging and competitive nature of our training sessions.

As a coach, I recognize that while they are having fun, they are unconsciously training their brains and bodies to work in harmony. – Rachel Ashcroft
