Developmental Program

Our Developmental teams participate in the Junior Developmental League (JDL) and Presidio Soccer League.

U6-U8DEVELOPMENTAL
PROGRAM

Our boy’s and girl’s U6-U8 Developmental Programs prepare our youngest players for many of the similarities that await them at the older age groups.  Tryouts are still held and teams are run by professional coaches, so the program mainly serves as a bridge between recreational and fully competitive soccer. Our goal is to to make the transition between the two levels smooth, as well as to instill a passion for all sports, specifically soccer, in players at the youngest age groups. Players will improve their core fundamentals (dribbling, trapping, passing, shooting) in a safe, fun, passionate, and encouraging learning environment. This is a PLAYER-FOCUSED program that is based on SKILL DEVELOPMENT. Growth and progression in the sport coupled with GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP are more important than winning.

U6-U8 DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORRACHEL ASHCROFT

The U6-U8 DMCV Sharks Developmental Program is run by Rachel Ashcroft. Rachel has worked with the developmental ages for over 9 years in San Diego County starting with the British Academy of Soccer Science and later moving to Carlsbad United for 6 years. Coach Ashcroft’s impact with the younger DMCV Sharks has been validated by the growth, leadership, and overall ability from players she coached which are now into older age groups.

“Improving technical ability and comfort with the ball, while learning in a fun environment are the key factors to growth in youth soccer.”

ABOUT DMCV Sharks

Our goal is to provide the opportunity for each of our players to train and play soccer in an environment where they can develop both individually and as a part of a team.

By providing a supportive yet challenging environment, we hope that all players will reach their full potential and play at the highest level possible for their ability.
